Every Internet Marketer Needs Back-Links

If you have ever visited an Internet Marketing forum such as the acclaimed (warrior forum), you will undoubtedly have seen a multitude of topics centered around back-links.

What are back-links?

Basically, back-links are what every Internet Marketer strives to get to their website. A back-link is a link to your website from another website and when search engines such as Google see these back-links they recognise that your website is offering good enough content for other websites to to link to yours and so reward you with recognition in the form of page ranking in their search engines.

The more more back-links you have, the higher ranking you will achieve.

There are varying degrees of strength of backlinks in as much as if you get a back-link from a website which has a page rank of pr4 for example, it will be a much stronger link than one coming from a pr1 site. So it is important to get as many high pr back-links as possible.

Similarly, a one way link, ie a link from another website to yours without a link from your website to theirs, has more strength than a reciprocal link.

There are numerous ways in which you get back-links, the most common of which is article marketing where you leave a link to your website in your resource box or signature file. If a publisher likes your article and publishes it on their website or blog, you will get a backlink.

Similarly, blog commenting (commenting on other blogs) and forum posting will generate backlinks.

One important thing to remember when doing article marketing etc., is that having your keywords within your article resource box will assist you in getting an increased page ranking for that keyword. So it is important that you know (how to do proper keyword research).

I know from personal experience, that article marketing is not everyone’s ideal and although I do like to think I write reasonably good, content rich articles which keep my readers entertained, it can sometimes be very frustrating to get motivated. I very often find myself suffering from writers block and can go day without writing a single word.

This frustration led me to seek out alternative methods of generating back-links. I even tried PLR articles – these are articles which other people have written and made available for general use. To be of any value, you still need to re-write a percentage of the content. For me, they are more trouble than they are worth, but many internet marketers use them.

If article marketing etc. is something you feel you would struggle with, then their are other ways to generate back-links, one of which I personally use and absolutely swear by and that is The Free Traffic System which shows you (how to get backlinks).

Following on from yesterdays post, I have exciting news to report.

As mentioned in the previous post, the purpose of this experiment is two fold.

1. To test the Free backlink generator
2. To promote my new ebook “Effective Keyword Research for Newbies on a Budget“

In just over 24 hours, I am happy to report that the page I am promoting is on pages 1 & 2 of google for 3 of my 5 keywords.

• Effective Keyword Research - google page 1 position 4 of 5,310,000
• Keyword Research ebook - google page 2 position 18 of 207,000
• Keyword Research for Newbies - google page 1 position 1 of 44,100

My remaining 2 keywords are very competitive and I expect it to take some time to see the desired results for these.

Although it has only been 24 hours or so, these results are more than encouraging especially as the only promotion has been with my blog and forum posts and of course the free backlink generator.

Although not yet conclusive, I would sincerely recommend anyone to take advantage of the free backlink generator to generate backlinks and visitors to their website.

Free Backlink Generator Experiment Starting Today.

As a result of exceptional feedback, I am starting to promote my new ebook Effective Keyword Research for Newbies on a Budget as from today but with little or no budget, I decided to try an interesting experiment.

I have been using a free backlink generator to promote my winning ways website with a nothing less than amazing results…….however, the results are not conclusive, in as much as I believe the backlink generator to be responsible for the traffic I get, but I can’t be certain. So, this is what I am going to be doing.

I have written my sales page for my ebook, optimized it with my keywords and have just uploaded to my website.

I have set the free backlink generator to award backlinks to this sales page only as apposed to 3 different sites.

I have loaded the sales page with statcounter

It is now pretty much in the lap of the Gods so to speak.

My objective is to get to page one on Google with the three VERY competetive keywords I have chosen. (I will share these when I start to see results)

As previously stated, I have no budget for this and will be relying on the free backlinks to generate traffic and so this will prove once and for all whether the free backlink generator is as good as I honestly think it is.

I will update my blog with the results as and when they are known.

Successful Internet Marketing - The Missing Link

In the present economic climate, many more people are turning to the Internet in a bid to earn some sort of an income by joining one of the thousands if not millions of so called “opportunities” available online today.

Sadly, the vast majority of these will fail simply because they did not have the whole picture at the outset and many of these opportunities even claim to give a step by step tutorial on how to achieve their goal.

• So why do people fail? Where do they go wrong?

When joining some of these business opportunities the tutorials they follow generally put the emphasis on getting traffic to their sales page and more often than not, recommend ways in which to generate the traffic. This usually means a subscription to a paid service. At the very most, some tutorials will recommend article marketing as a means to generate traffic and point people in the direction of paid article submission services.

Most of these paid for services do work of course, if you have done your SEO (search engine optimization) correctly.

Some tutorials will even go so far as telling you the importance of SEO and keyword selection in order to make your business work but they fail to tell you how to go about it.

• So what is the answer?

The truth of the matter is, whichever business opportunity you join or if you simply wish to promote a product or service, if you are just starting out in Internet marketing you need to learn the basics.

There is nothing wrong of course with setting up your own blog and filling it with affiliate links and generating content…….you will get some visitors and you may get the occasional sale. But if my guess is correct, you don’t just want the occasional sale do you? No of course not! You want loads of sales on a regular basis.

So your very first lesson has to be “Learn about Keyword Research” This is the missing link that many of the aforementioned opportunities neglect to tell you.

Your second lesson should be how to take those keywords and make money with them. SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

• Affordable Keyword Research Tools

Keyword research although essential to success in Internet marketing, can be very time consuming and tedious and some people may well as a result just give up at this point simply because they do not have the resolve. This is one of the reasons so many people fail in their Internet marketing endeavours.

Keyword research tools will shorten the keyword research process drastically and give you far more accurate results than trying to do keyword research haphazardly.

The industry as a whole, recognises “Wordtracker” to be the leader in keyword research and you may have already experienced a little of what wordtracker has to offer with their free keyword tool.

Subscribing to the full program is an expense and one that many Newbies can ill afford at the outset. However, there is another paid for program which I myself use regularly and the cost is not prohibitive.

The Role of Articles in SEO -
Achieving Top Rankings in Weeks

You have employed every trick in the SEO handbook but that first page ranking in the search engines has been eluding you. You are about to give up. But before you do, perhaps you may wish to consider taking up article marketing.

First of all, what exactly is article marketing? Article marketing is the process of writing and submittíng original content to article directories. This is not a new concept. For years, marketers have been publishing content in newsletters, magazines, and other publications to gain exposure for their businesses.

The process starts by submitting an article to an editor. If the content is suitable, the editor publishes the article, and the marketer gets some exposure. The process is then repeated with as many publications as possible. In theory, if each publication brings just one customer, then a hundred publications may bring a hundred customers. A hundred customers may just be what a new start-up is looking for.

On the Internet, the results can be astonishing. There are literally thousands of article directories on the Internet. With each article you submit, you are allowed to include two to three text links in the author resource box. Do note that most directories won’t allow you to include links in your article body. So keep them to your author signature.

Every time an article directory publishes an article, the website will experience an immediate surge in traffic. This traffic comes from the subscribed readers. After that, the surge dies down a little. The marketer now waits for the search engines to index and rank the articles. Once the article ranks in the search engines, the marketer will receive a constant stream of traffic from the indexed articles.

In addition, the links in the articles will also give the search rankings of the website a much needed boost. When someone writes and submits articles, the wheels of SEO have already started to turn, whether the marketer is aware of it or not. Each published article carries at least two links, pointing back to the author website. In other words, the author website gets high quality back links from well established authority sites whenever an article is approved for publication. But to achieve high rankings in the search results, you need to execute article marketing in the correct manner.

• How to Prepare Your Articles for Submission

Article submission can take up a lot of time. So you want to be sure that you get the highest rate of approval from the editors. Here is what you should do to ensure that you get most of your articles approved.

• Appropriate word count

Articles should ideally be 500 words and above. You can write whatever you want. But bear in mind that the editors are looking for valuable content that their readers will enjoy reading. So your articles should not be self promotional. All promotional materials should be included in the author resource box, which will appear at the end of the article.

• Proper formatting

The article does not have to be perfect. But it has to be legible, and relatively free of grammatical errors. The style of writing is not that important. Most styles will be accepted. Use the hard return to separate paragraphs, and do not include any HTML. Not all article directories accept HTML tags in the article body. As long as the article is of decent quality, it should be approved.

• Include target keywords in article title

Your target keywords should be included in the article title. This will improve the chances of your articles rising to the top in the search results. Having keywords in the article title is also part of SEO. When performing SEO, you want the search engines to find relevant content that links to your sites. Having your target keywords in the title is one way of letting the search bots know that the content in the article is related to what you provide on your website.

• Write a catchy title and interesting summary

The title is very important because if it cannot capture the attention of your reader, you have just lost a potential visitor. Your title should be speaking directly to your target audience. The article summary should also be clear and concise. Don’t beat around the bush. You can elaborate further in the article body. For the summary, use short and powerful sentences.

• Delivering the promise of your article title

Make sure that you stay on topic and deliver the promise in the article title. For example, if your article is about link building, then make sure you share some methods on how to build one way back links quickly. Don’t stray and write about your pet and then forget to go back to your main topic.

• Using anchor text in links

Anchor texts are the words that are in between a set of HTML link tags. Before going into article marketing, you should already have a set of keywords to target. Use these keywords not just in your article title, but also as your anchor texts. For instance, if you are targeting the keywords “Search Engine Optimization”, use these words in your links. Don’t use words like “clíck here” or any other generic term.

Once you have the above in place, you can start submittíng the articles to the article directories.

• How to Submit Articles Quickly and Easily

Before you start submitting articles, you must first get a list of article directories. Your list should contain at least 200 article directories. Choose directories that have been around for years, and have high page rank.

The article submission process can be grueling if you don’t have the right tools to help you. As a business owner, you shouldn’t be doing such manual tasks yourself. You have more important things to do, like developing products, marketing, and so on. The process shouldn’t be consuming too much of your valuable time. Here are some quick suggestions.

Use a free form filling tool to help you - There are tools available for download, such as RoboForm that will help you fill up the forms at the article directories. Once you set this up, it’s just clicking and submitting. That will save you from having to copy and paste the article into each and every submission form. A great way to submit articles if you are on a shoe string budget.

Invest in article submission software - There is special software on the market that will help you submit your articles either on a semi-automated basis, or on a fully automated basis. If it’s a fully automated process, you don’t have to be actively involved. You will, however, have to let the software complete the submission process before shutting it down.

Outsource article submission - You can hire someone else to submit the articles for you. This can be a dedicated person that you work with, or it can be a professional service provider. The difference between this option, and that of using software, is that you don’t have to monitor the submissions. Simply place an order, and you can switch off your computer and go work on other stuff.

Article marketing, when done right, can bring short, mid and long term traffic. The short term traffic comes from the current readership base of the article directories. The mid to long term traffic comes from the search engines and the articles. As articles remain online indefinitely on the Internet, they remain as traffic baits and help to attract more visitors to your websites.

If you have done your keyword research, and heed the advice given above, your site could achieve top rankings in the search engines within weeks.
