There Will Never Be A Right Time

A lot of people these days are getting the home business bug, but not everyone is following up. Many Guys and Gals can think of a dozen reasons to fail by never get going. Do any of these sound familiar to you?

1. When I have more cash, I can get started.

2. When I pay off this vehicle, I can get started.

3. When the children are all grown, I can get started.

4. When I’m happily married, I can get started.

5. The economy’s so bad–now’s not the appropriate time to get started. (Actually, a downturn can be the ideal time to get started. Microsoft began during a recession).

6. When I’m done caring for my elderly father, I can get started.

The truth is all of these “I can get started when…” statements are all versions of the same thing. They are all socially acceptable ways of saying, “I am afraid to get started.”

We all have limiting beliefs placed in our heads about cash and about running our own business. We’ve been told again and again that most businesses fail. We’ve seen a multitude of scams for ourselves. Our schooling, and the media, are all very attuned to making sure we know that the “way” to do things is by getting a employment and slaving away for someone else–that the best we can hope for is to live wages to wages. people who do something else are almost always presented as being bad Guys and Gals. It’s ironic, because the guys and gals producing this media are certainly very rich, but they’ve gotten rich singing the tune they know the masses want to hear. If you truly believe any of this–that becoming rich is bad, or that only the talented few can start and prosper in home business–then you can never get what you want. The law of attraction will just keep delivering reasons why you can’t start, survive, and thrive.

The Secret talked a lot about our thoughts, but in truth we can’t necessarily monitor 1500 thoughts an hour. The only thing we can truly control are our actions. In truth there’s only one thought that can matter–the thought, “I can do it!” No ifs, no ands, no buts, and no excuses. This is the thought that makes things take place, because it pushes us to start taking baby steps to our goal. Sooner or later baby steps become big steps, and before long we’re doing things we never thought we could do before.

Here’s the truth: there is never going to be a fitting time. You’ll be sitting at that intersection waiting for that glow to go green the rest of your life. The only way this is going to take place is if you’re prepared to stand up and make it happen. If you’re willing to put up with the difficulty of the kids. If you’re willing to risk the funds. If you’re ready to do it before you have that great marriage. If you’re prepared to take action NOW. Persistent daily action is the only thing that creates a business out of thin air. Persistent daily action is the only thing that makes that business begin to profit. That is the only thing that is going to turn it into a full time income. You might have to do it while working your old rat race profession for a little bit. You might have to tackle the restrictive beliefs through Emotional Freedom Techniques before your palms can stop sweating enough for you to actually do something.

But you have to just do it.

If you don’t, you won’t even have the distinguished title of “also ran.” You’ll always just be a wannabe.

I will get started Now.

Post that by your computer, and then find a way to make it happen.

Procrastination is the twin to indecision. When a decision is made all other alternatives are cut off. The art of indecision by using an excuse that is convenient for them allows procrastinating and feeling good about it. Procrastination destroys productivity and does not allow people to be successful. Unsuccessful people make decisions slowly and change them quickly. Successful people make decision quickly and are slow to change them.
